They acknowledge receipt of a letter dated 1 Jul; two boxes, marked HS5-6, were shipped on board the Royal Mail steamer Dee; no bill of lading [shipment receipt] was taken for them due to the United States blockade, which might not allow them to be transported; they have charged the freight and expenses of shipping to Messrs Manning & Mackintosh [agents of the Royal Mail Steam Packet Company in Mexico] of Mexico [Mexico City, Mexico]; they will always immediately forward any packages
