'The Society intends to substitute a fete at their Garden for the usual annual dinner at the Freemasons Hall. It will be well done and some time in June will be the time. We should be glad if you would notice the probability of the occurrence in the LG [Literary Gazette]. Of course our object is among other things to give the ladies an opportunity of doing something more than looking at our fine things. I send you with this the seeds that were distributed today at our meeting with a few flower seeds'
