Black and white engraved plate depicting Picton Castle in Pembrokeshire home to Richard Philips, 1st Baron Milford who was a Welsh landowner and politician. Picton Castle had been at the core of the Philipps family's estates since the 1490's The Philipps family gifted the castle, including its collections and gardens to the Picton Castle Trust in 1987. The castle can be seen partially hidden behind trees in the engraving, with cattle grazing in front. The book plate bears the imprints 'Publish'd as the Act directs, Jany 1st 1779, by W. Watts, Kemp's Row, Chelsea', 'P. Sandby R.A. del' and 'W. Watts sculp'. From the book 'The seats of the nobility and gentry' by William Watts
