Black and white engraved plate depicting Woolton Hall in Lancashire. The house was purchased in 1772 by Nicholas Ashton who was a former High Sheriff of Lancashire. Ashton commissioned Robert Adam to remodel and expand the house. As of 2022, the house lies in a state of disrepair and has been added to Historic England's 'Heritage at Risk Register'. The house can be seen to the right of the engraving with figures strolling in the grounds to the front of the house. The book plate bears the imprints 'Publish'd as the Act directs Sep. 1st. 1785, by W.Watts, Chelsea', 'T. Chubbard, Pinxt' and 'W. Watts sculpt'.
