Black and white engraved plate depicting Appuldurcombe Park on the Isle of Wight. Sir Richard Worsley extended the existing house in the 1770's and later became embroiled in a notorious 1782 court case involving his wife. The gardens were landscaped by Lancelot 'Capability' Brown. Now largely a shell, the house is managed by English Heritage. The book plate bears the imprints 'Publish'd as the Act directs, Jany. 1st. 1780, by W.Watts, Kemp's Row, Chelsea', 'A.
