Their bright colours have faded but they had a good show of lilacs, rhododendron and azaleas, then afterwards roses and lilies; they have had fires for three weeks now; he suspects unusual masses of Arctic ice melting in the North Atlantic have caused the persistent cold; he gets to his New Museum most days but begins to feel his entry to his 80th year
