For some weeks he has noticed a change in ‘Gardening’, and Mrs Berkeley told him Robinson has given it up; he always felt a pleasant link with the past when he read it; it kept him in touch with Robinson, and he is sorry Robinson has parted with it; he remembers its birth and has loved it since its infancy; it did a lot of good and may continue to do so but will lose some of its personal quality and originality; he hopes Robinson did not give it up due to ill health; his paint and garden keep him busy, and he rarely goes away except occasionally to London
