John Keynes (c.1806-1878) was a nurseryman and owner of Castle Street Nurseries in Salisbury. He was was a cultivator of carnations, picotees and pinks and later specialised in Dahlias, pot vines and roses. He was a founder member of the Gardeners' Royal Benevolent Institution, which was founded on January 17th 1839.
