Andrew Dickson Murray (1812-1878) was a Scottish Entomologist and Botanist and a fellow of the Linnean Society, Royal Society of Entomologists and President of the Botanical Society of Edinburgh. He was Assistant Secretary to the Royal Horticultural Society from 1860-1865, and was the Scientific Director of the RHS from 1877.
