Joseph Robinson (1811-1890) was gardener to James Simpson at Thames Bank, Pimlico, and was a regular exhibitor at the Horticultural Society and other flower shows. He was a contributor to 'The Florist' magazine. In 1858 he went to work for Charles Turner at the Royal Nurseries, Slough, as a contractor..
