Quilter) (1824-1893) was a gardener who first came to notice for running the Lower Grounds, Aston, Birmingham, where around 1870 his displays of spring bulbs attracted great attention as part of the "spring gardening" movement. He later moved to Felixstowe and became the proprietor and manager of the Bath Hotel, where he helped to make Felixstowe into a fashionable resort and continued ornamental gardening in the hotel grounds..
