Pen and ink drawing on paper of Alchemilla vulgaris (Alchemilla vulgaris agg.) by Claude Aubriet c.1700. Previously identified as Alchemilla mollis. There are 15 species that are very similar in Britain (one of which is A.mollis) that are included in an aggregate (=agg.). They mostly differ in the hairs on the plant and details of flowers, Aubriet's image is not detailed enough to distinguish exactly which species this is. English vernacular name: lady's mantle
