Pen and ink drawing on paper of Amaranthus folio variegata (identified as Amaranthus sp.) by Claude Aubriet c.1700. Previously mis-identified as Amaranthus tricolor. Aubriet's picture does not show the long masses of flowers that stick up or hang down on most Amaranthus including A.tricolor. There are a couple of Amaranthus with small masses of flowers low down on the stem in his picture. Currently identified as Amaranthus sp.
