Pen and ink drawing on paper of Betula Dod (Betula sp) by Claude Aubriet c.1700. Identified as Betual sp. 'Dod' is a reference to Rembert Dodoens (Flemish physician and botanist). It is not possible to identify whether this is B. pendula or B. pubescens, as the drawing is ambiguous. The leaves show a long tip and are biserrate (small teeth on large teeth) but not as strongly as B.pendula would be. English vernacular name: Betony, Bishop's wort
