He acknowledges receipt of two letters sent by Mr Hartweg [Theodor Hartweg]; he enquires after the box sent by Hartweg marked HS3, sent on 13 Nov from Tampico [Mexico] through Messrs Meade [Richard W. and Denis Meade, merchants in Mexico] of Guanaxato [Guanajato, Mexico], which has not yet arrived, and which contains 'perishable seeds'; they will reimburse any expenses incurred with forwarding the box; he has written to Hartweg through the Foreign Office and asked him to communicate with Messrs McCalmont
