The arrangements for sending a collector to Mexico are nearly complete; he asks for recommendations for 'any good [mercantile] houses' at Vera Cruz [Veracruz, Mexico], Mexico [Mexico City, Mexico], Guanaxato [Guanajato, Mexico] or in the north; Hartweg [Theodor Hartweg] will probably sail from Liverpool; Hartweg needs to be able to obtain money during his journey, but Lindley has been too busy to arrange these matters
