When Lindley met Skinner in the company of Mr Bateman [James Bateman, British landowner and horticulturist], Skinner urged Lindley to send a collector to Guatemala; Mr Theodor Hartweg will be travelling shortly to Guatemala from Mexico and will 'present himself' to Skinner on his arrival; they anticipate rich and important collections
