Eight boxes from Mexico arrived on the Penguin transported by Lieutenant Luce [captain of the Penguin]; they received a letter from Messrs Jolly & Baker [merchants in Mexico] in Tampico [Mexico] on 14 Feb saying they expected to ship eight boxes of plants by that ship; they received the boxes this morning, and will forward them to London by a steamer on Thursday; they will write again regarding the expenses, and write to Messrs Jolly & Baker by the Alert [HM packet Alert] sailing tomorrow for Mexico; they enclose letters received from Messrs Jolly & Baker [for a letter from Messers Jolly & Baker to John Lindley, 9-10 Jan 1939, which may have been one of the letters enclosed, see RHS/Col/7/1/2/55]
