He acknowledges receipt of a letter dated 15 Dec; he is pleased to facilitate the shipment of the collections; he only recently heard of the difficulty from Mr Parkinson [John Parkinson, British consul in Mexico]; he mentioned the circumstance to Lieutenant Crooke of the Petrel, who agreed to receive the boxes on board from Messrs Munoz & Co [Messrs Munoz, Matfield & Co, merchants in Mexico]; the Honourable Mr Strangways [William Fox-Strangways, British under-secretary of state for foreign affairs] wrote to him on the subject, and he has promised to assist the Society
