He wishes he could come but he has been in bed for eight days and will be there for at least another two weeks; his buffalo leg [he was wounded by a buffalo in India in 1909] has gone wrong and the pain and inflammation are considerable; he hopes to avoid surgery by resting; he sends good wishes to Robinson and his ‘angel nurse’
