She thanks Robinson for his sympathetic letter; one of the last things her father [Maurice Hewlett] thought of was planting the little roots, and although desperately ill he gave them exact directions as to where and how to plant them, and examined the roots with interest; when they come up next year they will be a sad and dear reminder of his last days; she would like to come and see his flowers one day; they often motor through his area
