He congratulates Robinson on his satisfactory condition as reported in his recent letter; it is not impossible that Robinson is embarked on the return voyage to his old state; it is good Robinson continues his work and has deferred a return visit to Matlock; in so chronic a case as Robinson’s there is often a trying interval following treatment before improvement is seen; despite Dr Walsh’s confirmation of improvement in the liver Robinson should still be cautious; the state of the bowels will improve if Robinson uses only the enema and suppositories, for which he encloses a prescription and gives directions for use; a sail will do Robinson good and Madeira will suit the purpose well; he is counting on a review of the book when he brings it out but he is waiting for a quieter time
