Robinson is generous to have given him a copy of his book on Gravetye Manor; he will value it the more for the kind way it was delivered and the inscription in it; building up a garden that is becoming more beautiful and rich in species, he can appreciate more than most the work that has resulted in the world renowned Manor of Gravetye; he has been engaged with Bowles [E.A. Bowles] and Chittenden [Fred Chittenden] today on the new heath garden being made at Wisley [RHS Garden Wisley]; it is hard to get much undulation there due to the soil being light and rainfall scanty, ‘22 inches against our 34’
