He thanks Maw for sending him his account of the curious pockets [of chert] in the mountain limestone of Llandudno; the tufa [a variety of limestone often with many fossilised wetland plants] deposit Maw discovered is still more remarkable; he will gladly help identify the fossils of an interesting quality and age, and asks Maw to send a selection; he will be leaving home for a few weeks for Yorkshire on 27 Jun.
