He is making arrangements for the trip to Marocco [Marrakesh] in March; if not Marocco, he will try for another place in North Africa, such as Tangiers [Tangier, Morocco], Tetuan [Tetouan, Morocco] or Mogador [Essaouira, Morocco]; if Maw is coming to town in the next fortnight and cannot visit Kew, Hooker will meet him in town; he thanks Maw for the Portuguese plants; he is curious to see Maw’s geological results; he asks if Maw knows Mr Busk [George Busk], who did so much for the Gibraltar caves. Dated Saturday [c.Feb 1871; an earlier listing stated the letter was ‘from 1871 packet’ and the subject matter matches letters written in Feb 1871]
