She arrived home today to find Maw’s Crocus monograph; she has looked it over in part, and is very interested; she thanks him for sending her a copy; the first lot he sent her did beautifully, and she hopes the second lot will as well; she has not seen her place since October, but hopes to visit in a week; she asks if Maw will be in London soon so they can have lunch or dinner with Miss Jekyll; the Dowager Lady de Clifford told her that she visited Maw’s place, and loved the gardens despite the awful weather; she hopes to hear that Maw will visit her. Dated 31st [?1880; the subject matter matches letters written in 1880; although Maw’s ‘Monograph of the Genus Crocus’ was published in 1886, Maw sent a ‘specimen’ of it to Charles Darwin in November 1880 and may have sent similar specimens to others including Nevill]
