Written from Stillyans, Horeham Road, Sussex. Manuscript
The crocuses Maw gave her are doing well, with many coming into bloom; they are in pots now, but will be planted as soon as they blossom; they have a wonderful collection of plants of all kinds, and she hopes Maw will visit once the railway makes it more accessible; she does not know if she has anything worthy to send Maw currently; she asks if he has Aquilegia viridiflora, as she has some seedlings; if Maw has anything he does not want she will happily tend to it, but does not mean to beg as he has been so generous; she hopes they can meet when she goes to London in November. Dated 24th [1881 added in a different hand]
