Hand-coloured glass lantern slide of the part of the carved stone and wrought iron gates and railings at Old Down. Fruit is carved on the piers, and there are statues on the columns. Ink inscription on recto, '220. Inscription on recto, 'Old Down. Glos. 18854'. Typed label on recto, 'Photograph by Reginald A. Malby & Co., Copyright. As this slide is especially prepared for use with artificial light it should not be criticised by daylight'. The wrought iron gate and railings were installed by the owner of Old Down, Colonel Turner, having previously been installed at a building in London. The stone carvings are of statues, and there is fruit on the piers
