He thanks Maw for sending the rare Drosophyllum plants, which arrived sickly but may recover; coincidentally a stranger [William Chester Tait] from Oporto [Porto, Portugal] also sent him a supply, which arrived in a very bad state but have recovered enough to observe; the species is much less interesting than he thought; Dr Hooker [Joseph Dalton Hooker] visited and tells him that Maw sent home many plants; he praises Maw for his hard work across many subjects. Dated 27 Apr, no year [annotated 1869]
